Item No. 8 <br />Staff Report No. <br />Meeting Date: December 4, 2000 <br />Type of Business: W.K. <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Michael Ulrich, Director of Public Works <br />Item Title/Subject: Continued Discussion Regarding Water Service Repair <br />Program <br />Date of Report: August 29, 2018 <br /> <br />Based on discussion with the City Attorneys and staff, it is recommended that if this amendment <br />to the City Code is adopted, which establishes a water service repair program and fee, the <br />program and fee be mandatory for all properties outlined in the Ordinance. Subsequently staff <br />has removed language pertaining to an elective program. The revised Resolution and Ordinance <br />is attached for Council’s review. <br /> <br />Staff did contact several surrounding Cities, regarding their policies, which are listed below: <br /> <br /> Coon Rapids – resident responsible from main to structure <br />New Brighton – resident responsible from main to structure, City only contributes <br />to repair if extraordinary costs, 20 ft. deep City pays extra costs to dig <br /> Fridley – City responsible from main to City side of curb stop box <br /> Spring Lake Park – resident responsible from main to structure <br /> Blaine - City responsible from main to City side of curb stop box <br /> Circle Pines - City responsible from main to City side of curb stop box <br /> <br />Further discussion of this matter was recommended at the Public Hearing of November 27, 2000. <br />Staff seeks Council direction in this matter. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />_________________________________ <br />Michael Ulrich, Director of Public Works <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />C:\Mike's documents\resolutions\Water service rep st rpt.doc <br /> <br />
