ounds View City Council Page Three <br />~egular Meeting August 23, 1993 <br />MOTION[SECOND: Blanchard/Wuori to adopt the Consent Agenda as presented. <br />VOTE: 3 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />RESIDENTS REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR <br />Barbara Savage, 7721 Bona Road, thanked the Mayor, Council and City Planner <br />for their concern, or lack of concern, regarding the flooding problem on <br />their property as a result of the Harstad development construction. Ms. <br />Savage stated that the City was notified of a major problem regarding the <br />collapse of a pool wall due to flooding which was created by the Harstad <br />development during a large amount of heavy rainfall. Ms. Savage stated that <br />no one from the City had contacted them regarding this problem. Ms. Savage <br />stated that Mayor Linke had set up an appointment with her husband and then <br />never called or showed up for the appointment and .she was at this meeting to <br />find out why. <br />Mayor Linke stated that he had spoken to Mr. Savage and had agreed to stop <br />at the house, but due to a full schedule, he completely forgot about the <br />appointment. Mayor Linke stated that he works a full time job and has a <br />family that he is committed to do things with and that his Mayoral position <br />is a part time position. Mayor Linke again stated that he did make a <br />commitment to Mr. Savage and apologized for the oversight. Mayor Linke also <br />~ndicated that he was planning on calling over the weekend, but ended up <br />oing out of town. <br />Paul Harrington, City Planner,, stated .that. he and <br />that is doing the work on the Harstad development <br />property right after the FOCUS 2000 meetings. Mr. <br />construction company did make some corrections to <br />Harrington stated .that this project is in middle <br />and that he had asked the construction company to <br />which would curb the runoff. <br />the construction company <br />went out to the Savages <br />Harrington stated that the <br />help solve the problem. <br />stages of being completed <br />complete a few things <br />Mr. Harrington further stated that the construction company had cut down the <br />berm to increase water flow in the back. <br />Ms. Savage stated that the problem worsened. Mr. Harrington stated. that <br />there have been quite a few problems in the City, not just on your property <br />or the development due to the unusual amount of rainfall. <br />Harrington explained that he had left a message for Mr. Savage on an <br />answering machine and also phoned his work or a beeper number. <br />Ms. Savage stated that Mr. Savage works construction and cannot be reached <br />as he is out in the field and there is no answering machine, nor beeper. <br />Duane McCarty, 8060 Long Lake Road, stated that he had been going through <br />the budget process from last year. McCarty suggested that the Council <br />~hange the budget process a little by adding more detail in terms of <br />
