Mounds View City Council <br />• Regular Mee ing <br />Page 6 <br />March 27, 1995 <br />Samant a Orduno, City Administrator, explained that Community <br />Develo ment Coordinator Paul Harrington had requested her to <br />presen this item in his absence. This is an operational <br />matter that requires formal approval by the Council. It was <br />discus ed at the Work Session that tree trimming businesses <br />should be required to be licensed by the City. A license fee <br />of $40.00 would be consistent with all the other businesses in <br />the Ci y that are required to be licensed. <br />Ms. Or uno read Ordinance No. 558 and explained that, because <br />this i sue falls under the requirement for an Ordinance, this <br />is a r quest for the introduction of Ordinance No. 558. It <br />will b presented for final adoption by a roll call vote at <br />the Co ncil meeting on April 10. <br />MOTION SECOND: Quick/Hankner to Approve the Introduction of <br />Ordina ce No. 558 Amending the Municipal Code of Mounds View <br />by Ame ding Chapter 1001 Entitled, "Building Code" <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> <br />H. <br />Samant a Orduno, City Administrator, provided the background <br />inform tion of this "housekeeping" item. The schedule of fees <br />are us ally presented close to the beginning of the year; <br />howeve because of the tree trimming business and <br />reinsp ctions that were discussed at the Work Session, it is <br />being rought before the Council at this time. This Uniform <br />Schedu a of Fees and Charges outlines all the fees and permit <br />charge that the City charges on a variety of different <br />subjec s, very few of which have changed. Those that have <br />change are either because of State Law requirements or <br />becaus they were previously discussed at the Work Session. <br />Mayor inke inquired what area the tree trimming fees would be <br />under. <br />Ms. Or uno responded that tree trimming would fall under the <br />catego y of Businesses, which is a separate Resolution. <br />Linke asked Ms. Orduno if the $2.50 charge for an <br />identi ication card for peddlers and transient merchants was <br />suffic ent to cover the cost. <br />Ms. Or uno felt that the $2.50 charge for the identification <br />• cards ay or may not cover costs. The majority of transient <br />mercha is do not purchase the I.D. cards at all. Residents <br />
