Mounds View City Council Page l0 <br />Regular Meeting May 22, 1995 <br />Joe Reinke, 5165 Eastwood Road, expressed his appreciation to the <br />Council for encouraging the public to express their opinions. He <br />felt that streets should not be made wider, citing concerns about <br />stormwater runoff and pollution. <br />Rhonda Smieja, 5298 St. Stephen Street, inquired what the <br />assessment policies were for other communities. <br />Mike Ulrich, Director of Public Works, offered the varied <br />assessment policies for the following communities: Anoka, Arden <br />Hills, Blaine, Andover, Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, Burnsville, <br />Circle Pines, Covn Rapids, Falcon Heights, Fridley, New Brighton, <br />and Maplewood. <br />Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, advised that she had been <br />requested by a citizen to let the Council know they are opposed to <br />the street width of 32 feet. <br />Mayor Linke stated that this public hearing would be continued to <br />the June 12, 1995 Regular City Council Meeting. <br />MOTION, SECOND: Trude/ to Amend the Street Standard in Ordinance <br />No. 560 to 28 Feet Instead of 32 Feet <br />Motion failed due to lack of a second. <br />MOTIONfSECOND: Hankner/Quick to Table the Introduction of <br />Ordinance No. 560 to the June 12, 1995 Regular City Council Meeting <br />VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Councilmember Hankner explained that the public hearing has been <br />tabled to the next Council meeting to allow more residents to come <br />forward with their opinions. <br />Councilmember Hankner left the meeting at 9:31 p.m. <br />To Consider and Formally Introduce Ordinance No 561 Amending <br />Appendix Aj "Specific Rezonings" of the Mounds View Municipal Code <br />Mayor Linke opened the public hearing at 9:32 p.m. <br />Paul Harrington, Community Development Coordinator, clarified that <br />Ordinance No. 561 amending Appendix A, "Specific Rezonings", was <br />introduced at the May 8, 1995 City Council Meeting and was being <br />considered at this time for final adoption. This Ordinance would <br />allow the rezoning of the property located at 7305 Knollwood Drive, <br />which is the former Tom Thumb property, from a B-1 Neighborhood <br />Commercial to an R-2 Single and Two-family Residential.
