Mayor Linke explained that only <br />streets in critical need would be reconstructed. <br />Mr. Dahlberg was in favor of stricter law enforcement for speeding. <br />Rhonda Smieja, 5298 St. Stephen Street, strongly opposed curbs and <br />gutters and favored street standards at a minimum width. Her main <br />concern was the water runoff. <br />Bill Ivory, 5115 Eastwood Road, concurred with the other people who <br />were opposed to widening the streets. <br />Mr. Ivory was in favor of stricter law enforcement for speeding. <br />Gary Heldman, 2332 Sherwood Road, did not feel that widening the <br />streets would be a public improvement. His property value would <br />decrease because he would lose trees if the streets were made <br />wider. He was concerned that wider streets could cause higher <br />traffic speeds and could cause more stormwater runoff. <br />Mr. Heldman was in favor of stricter law enforcement for speeding. <br />Terence Posterick, 5100 Brighton Lane, was concerned regarding the <br />cost of street reconstruction. <br />Pat Moenkhaus, 5132 Eastwood Road, concurred with Councilmember <br />Trude relative to keeping the street widths narrow. <br />Mr. Moenkhaus was in favor of stricter law enforcement for <br />speeding. <br />Charles Ross, 5142 Eastwood Road, was against widening the streets. <br />Bill Frits, 8072 Long Lake Road, commented that no work had been <br />done to repair Long Lake Road. <br />Joan Soebding, 5105 Eastwood Road, inquired if the City would <br />jeopardize losing state assistance if the street standards are set <br />at 30 feet. Mayor Linke explained that MSA funds, which come from <br />gas taxes, have a minimum 32 foot standard. <br />Bill Soebding, 5105 Eastwood Road, concurred with Councilmember <br />Trude relative to the narrow street widths. <br />Mr. Soebding was in favor of stricter law enforcement for speeding. <br />He stated that he had seen young drivers go right through stop <br />signs on several occasions. He would like to see more police <br />activity on Woodcrest Drive. <br />• <br />
