• <br />Mounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting <br />Page 17 <br />June 26, 1995 <br />Mr. Harrington advised staff has reviewed the plan and found <br />it to be in compliance with all requirements of the Municipal <br />Code for a facility of this type. The Planning Commission has <br />also reviewed the request and recommends approval. <br />John Osterlund, representing the School District, advised this <br />is the first in a f ive-year plan to upgrade elementary schools <br />within the District. He explained this expansion will help <br />reduce overcrowding by providing three new classrooms, three <br />small conference breakouts, and a new kindergarten room. He <br />further advised they have received bids which will be <br />presented to the School Board and hope to start construction <br />this summer and open in January, 1996. Consideration of Resolution No 4789 Hiring Dawn Postudensek <br />as Administrative Intern <br />Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, explained after Tim <br />Cruikshank left the position of Assistant to the City <br />Administrator to accept the position of Lauderdale City <br />Administrator, it was decided to not fill that position and <br />instead hire an intern to assume some of the projects Mr. <br />Cruikshank had been doing. These projects include the CIP <br />Program, MIS coordination, working on the network, personnel <br />issues, Focus 2000, and public information. <br />Ms. Orduno explained based on Council direction, staff <br />advertised for an Administrative Intern. Over 25 applications <br />were received and seven were selected for an interview an <br />In-basket exercise consisting of a test of computer skills, <br />writing skills, attention to detail, re-creation of the Human <br />Resources Budget, and identifying mistakes on the budget <br />format. <br />• <br />Ms. Orduno advised Dawn Postudensek, who will be receiving her <br />Masters Degree in Public Administration next year, performed <br />exceptionally well. She recommended Ms. Postudensek be hired <br />as Administrative Intern, effective July 10, 1995, with a <br />six-month probation at an hourly wage of $9.25. If <br />satisfactory after the six-month review, that salary could be <br />adjusted. <br />
