Mounds View City Council Page 16 Regular Meeting June 26, 1995 Mayor Linke reviewed the time schedule when the Assessment Policy was first considered and estimated it has been under consideration for about six months. William Frits, 8072 Long Lake Road, requested the Council and staff remember they are the hired hands of the community and are to do the job in representing them. He added residents expect the Council to come up with ideas. He suggested the Council throw out a figure and the residents will tell them if it is right or wrong, or they will do it in November. Mr. McCarty commented on published notice that is required for ordinances by the City Charter. He noted the Charter lays a lot of responsibility on residents because that is what the residents wanted. He stated his surprise that the Council did not indicate that regardless of the project proposed or action taken, Section 8.04 is in place and residents have the final veto power over any project the City does. Ms. Westphal stated the Councilmembers came around knocking on doors during the election but she has not seen them since. She suggested the Council inform residents of what is going on and then maybe the correct information would get out. She stated she wou:Ld also like better information. Councilmember Trude reported Doris Wilson, 7877 Sunnyside, is unable to attend tonight and has requested the Council consider having everyone pay for roads since everyone uses them so she (Ms. Wilson) supports having the general levy pay for reconstruction road projects. Consideration of Development Review Request of Pinewood Elementary School Plannina Case No. 418-95, Resolution No. 4788 Paul Harrington, Community Development Coordinator, reported Pinewood Elementary School has made application for a Development Review of their proposed building expansion at 5500 Quincy Street. If approved, the proposal would allow the construction of approximately 5,600 square feet of classroom and meeting room space on the south side of the existing • structure.
