Page I 1 <br />• January 22, 1996 <br />Mounds Vtew Ctty Counctl <br />provide a report of the official statements, the annual audit and material events, which his company would be <br />able to complete on behalf of the city for a fee. The sale of the bonds would take place on February 12, 1996. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Hankner to authorize staff to begin preparing necessary documents for the <br />refunding of the municipal bonds. <br />Mayor Linke called for a Special Meeting to be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 1996 to further <br />discuss this item. A resolution will be presented to the City Council for their consideration at this meeting. <br />VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />B. Consideration of Resolution No. 4889, Appointing Pedestrian Bridge Citizen Task Force. <br />Ms. Trude explained that the time has come in which to appoint a Citizen Task Force for the Pedestrian Bridge. <br />As per the contract with BRW, it allows for a Task Force to meet three times with the architect to come up <br />with recommendations in regard to the bridge design to be presented to the City Council. The following <br />recommendations have been made to the Task Force Committee: Sue Fisher (Marketing Task Force), Sue <br />• Weber, Pam Starr (Parks & Rec.), Delayne Welsch (Hwy. 10 Task Force), Florence Johnson (wheelchair <br />user/resident of Wildwood Manor), Ed Hanson (Manager of Snyder's), Sue Hankner, Julie Trude and staff <br />members Mary Saarion, Mike Ulrich, Joyce Pruitt, and Rick Jarson who would serve an advisory role. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Quick to approve Resolution 4889, Appointing a Task Force to Select a Design <br />for the Highway 10 Pedestrian Bridge. <br />VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />C. Use of Contingency Funds for Brush Removal. <br />Mr. Paul Harrington explained that City Forester Rick Wriskey went through the city to assess the damage from <br />the ice storm. He has recommended that a City Clean Up be funded. His concern is that damaged limbs, if <br />not removed, could cause further damage and the potential of disease. He has estimated that the total cleanup <br />will cost between $5,000 and $ l 0,000. The City would be divided into quadrants and certain days would be <br />established to have residents put their brush on the right of way and a contractor would pick it up. Mr. <br />Harrington explained that a flyer could be printed, it would be run on Cable TV, and it would be run in the <br />Bulletin and the Focus Newspaper. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hankner/Trude to authorize the use of Contingency.Funds not to exceed $10,000 for <br />brush removal. <br />VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Ms. Trude noted that seniors who need assistance getting their brush to the curb can contact the Northwest <br />Youth and Family Services. <br />• REPORTS: <br />
