Consideration of Resolution No. 4937, Approving and Supporting the Employment of Fire Prevention <br />Volunteers by the Spring Lake Park Fire Department as Required by Minnesota Statutes 424.A001, <br />424.A01, and 424.A02. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hankner/Trude to Approve Resolution No. 4937, Approving and Supporting the <br />Employment of Fire Prevention Volunteers by the Spring Lake Park Fire Department as Required by <br />Minnesota Statutes 424.A001, 424.A01 and 424.A02. <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />F. Consideration of Resolution No. 4929, Considering Purchase Midland Videen, Inc. Property. <br />• Mr. Michael Ulrich Director of Public Works ex lained how the urchase of the roe would be <br />p P P p rtY <br />funded, using MSA funds and Tax Increment Financing funds.. <br />Ms. Cathy Bennett, Economic Development Coordinator, informed the Council that the Bel-Rae property <br />has some easements which would be transferable if the city purchased the property and which were not <br />disclosed as a part of the negotiations. Therefore, she feels the council may want to direct the staff to go <br />back and re-negotiate a price on the property due to the easements on the property or look into what the <br />city's legal rights may be in the future in regard to those easements. <br />Ms. Trude stated she feels this will defmitely affect the overall value of the property. <br />Ms. Bennett stated this information was just revealed to her and she has not had an opportunity to look <br />into it. <br />Mayor Linke noted that the Council should consider tabling this item until adequate time has been given <br />for staff to look into the matter. Additionally, he would like to possibly discuss some other funding <br />alternatives for the purchase of the three adjacent parcels. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Hankner to table Consideration of Resolution No. 4929, until the Council has <br />had time to review and discuss it further at the Apri129, 1996 Work Session. <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />G. Consideration of Purchase of Three Tax Forfeited Properties. <br />• Mr. Whiting stated that the City has been notified by Ramsey County that three contiguous properties on <br />Woodlawn Drive are up for tax forfeiture.
