e ` <br /> • CHAPTER 9 <br /> EMINENT DOMAIN <br /> Sec. 9.01. Acquisition of Property. The city may acquire by purchase, gift, <br /> condemnation, or otherwise, any property, either within or without its boundaries, <br /> that may be needed by the city for any public purpose. In acquiring property by <br /> exercising the power of eminent domain, the city shall proceed according to Minnesota <br /> law, Chapter 117, or other applicable laws. At least two weeks before a public <br /> hearing is held or a final decision is made by the city council on the acquisition <br /> of the property, information shall be distributed to as many residents of the city <br /> as is feasible, giving the purpose of the acquisition, the estimated cost to the <br /> city both immediate and long range, the proposed method of financing, and to what <br /> • extent the acquisition meets or bears relationship to the needs of the city as <br /> defined pursuant to Section 7.05 of this Charter. <br /> • <br /> • <br />
