He noted that both sites would be above the minimum lot size. (2.) Setting a Public Hearing for Monday, August 25,1997 at 7:10 p.m. to Consider a Resolution for <br />a Preliminary Plat for Silver View Estates Development located at the Southeast Corner of Silver Lake <br />Road and Highway 10. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Trude to Set a Public Hearing for Monday, August 25, 1997 at 7:10 p.m. to <br />Consider a Resolution for a Preliminary Plat for Silver View Estates Development located at the Southeast <br />Comer of Silver Lake Road and Highway 10. <br />VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />It was asked if this Public Hearing notice would be published in the Focus Newspaper or the New Brighton <br />Bulletin. Mr. Ericson explained that the notice did not meet the deadline for either of these papers, but would <br />be published in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. <br />Council member Trude asked that in situations such as this, that a notice be published, as required in the St. <br />Paul Pioneer Press, but that a notice also be published in the Bulletin so that residents have information of the <br />meeting prior to the public hearing. <br />C. Review Tentative Approval of Hiring for Community Development Director Position. <br />Mr. Whiting stated interviews for the position of Community Development Director were conducted, however <br />he has not come to a conclusion and would like to perform necessary background checks. He would like to <br />bring a recommendation before the Council at the August 25th Council Meeting. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Trude to Table this item until the August 25, 1997 City Council meeting. <br />VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />D. Review Exclusive Negotiations Agreement with Anthony Properties regarding City-Owned <br />Properties Adjacent to Edgewood Drive and Highway 10 and the Community Center Property. <br />Mr. Whiting explained that this item was briefly discussed at the last Council Work Session. Anthony <br />Properties has expressed interest in talking with the City about developing office space on city-owned property <br />in front of city hall. The developer has only briefly discussed ideas for the site, mentioning up to 130,000 <br />square feet of office space. Mr. Whiting stated he has contacted the University of MN Urban Design Center <br />who helped the city on the ring-road concept, and asked them to provide ideas as to whether or not the city <br />should pursue this. He noted that a copy of the Exclusive Negotiations Agreement was provided for Council <br />review and that its purpose is to have the developer commit $5,000 to the city to cover city time and expenses <br />for investigating this type of request. The term of the agreement would be 120 days. <br />
