REPORTS: <br />StiQne~ Council member Stigney noted a correction in the Newsletter which went out to residents. The <br />time of the Council Work Sessions is 6:00 p.m, rather than 7:00 p.m. <br />Mavor McCarter Mayor McCarty noted that he had held out on one commissioner appointment for the <br />Parks Commission, The candidates were from one neighborhood and he felt it would be good to get a <br />broader representation for the position. If there are no more volunteers, there is a waiting list of people <br />who can Jill in and who are very capable. He noted it would be beneficial to get someone from the south <br />side of Highway 10 in the southwest or southeast corner of the city. <br />Mayor McCarty stated he received a call from JoAnn Finney who represents Habitat for Humanity. A <br />dedication ceremony will be held on January- 24th and a representative will be needed from Mounds View. <br />He felt that perhaps Jerry Peterson, Chairman of the Planning Commission would be a good candidate to <br />represent the city. <br />Mayor McCarty stated he feels that the city should do something to set up and identify the real estate value <br />model for the City of Mounds View that sets the real estate values at this time so that we can keep a track <br />or record as to the how the real estate values may change within the city from impact of the :anoka County <br />Airport. At the same time, a noise model should also be done for the city. <br />Mayor McCarty stated he feels with the anticipated completion of the Community Center, the city should <br />really begin investigating how to implement a commission on youth. This would be a commi;sion made <br />up of youth from 7th grade through 12th grade with adult involvement. <br />MOTION/SECOND: McCarty/Gunn to direct staff to investigate the means by which the City could <br />appoint and implement a Commission on Youth. <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />
