From:
Dan Stowe
To:
Jon Sevald
Subject:
Crossroad Pointe
Date:
Tuesday, June 12, 2018 10:32:04 AM
Hi Jon:
I saw on the Mounds View FB page about the proposed options for the
Crossroad Pointe land. I live on St. Stephens St. and can see the empty
lot from my front yard, so this directly affects me, but I cannot attend the
meeting at the end of the month.
While I'm disappointed the previous proposal that included the gun range
was "shot down" (pun intended), I can see no fault with welcoming Kwik
Trip into Mounds View. They're an established company, with a great
track record and, selfishly, having one within walking distance of my home
is a huge plus in my book (love their coffee!)
My only concern would be regarding the proposed apartments. I've lived
near/in buildings that accepted Section 8 vouchers and that income
bracket before, and experienced some none -too -stellar encounters with
people that live in those buildings. I can understand the need for low-
income housing, but I don't see the need for it within Mounds View with
consideration to the income levels around town. Market -value apartments
make sense though.
Just my two cents! I hope your decision process goes smoothly and the
best decision is made for our town.
Have a great day!
Daniel Stowe
dans1984(ftmai/,com
