0
The Station
2884 County Rd I
Mounds View, MN
TO: Mayor, Council Members, and City Staff
RE: Proposed Kwik Trip in Mounds View
I am writing to you today in regards to the proposed Kwik Trip to be built on County Rd 10,
across from Moe's Supper Club. My concern is that I don't think Mounds View can support
another convenience store in the area.. There are four convenience stores right now in Mounds
VieW. My reasoning is simply:
1. There was a Standard gas/convenience store where CVS is now and they could not
make it.
2. Phillips 66 store where the vacant Snyder's store is. (Mounds View couldn't even
support two drug stores!)
3. There was a Clark store where the car dealership is now on Hwy 10.
4. On the proposed Kwik Trip site there was an Oasis Market convenience store that was
so runned down, canopy falling down, closed up. The city bought the property with
taxpayer's money.
5. - There is a BP across from the Mermaid that I believe will be boarded up, if you allow
the Kwik Trip to go in. Is the city going to buy that property also with taxpayers money?
Lastly, I would like to say, that I am glad I do not live on Edgewood Drive behind the proposed
site. Their property values are going to go down. They are going to be bothered by the
constant noise and lighting, as typically Kwik Trip stores are open 24/7, and have not one but
two car washes. How would you like a gas station/convenience store in your front yard?
I think the City Council could come up with a better use for that property than a fifth
gas/convenience store. -
Since
Leon M Theis
Owner, The Station
