<br />Item No: 5.F. <br />Meeting Date: August 13, 2018 <br />Type of Business: Council Consent <br />Administrator review: _______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8994, Adopting a Market Adjustment for the HR <br />Coordinator position. <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The City Council authorized a market study for all non-union personnel in 2017 in an <br />effort to maintain a competitive pay structure in light of significant staff turnover. That <br />study was completed in late 2017 with the intent to implement any adjustments in 2019. <br />However, an inconsistency was discovered with respect to the HR Coordinator Position <br />which resulted in an administrative review, investigation, and an update from our <br />consultant to the Market Rate Plan. This has been reviewed by the Human Resources <br />Committee which supports this adjustment. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />As part of the negotiation at point of hire the HR Coordinator position started at Step 4 <br />and moved to Step 5 or $28.49. The updated/market rate corrected Step 5 amount per <br />the consultant is $35.02.
