Mounds View City Council <br />December 14, 1998 <br />Page 13 <br />N. Update on the YMCA Contract and Interim Agreement. <br />Kessel reviewed the staff report dated December 11, 1998. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mayor McCarty/Koopmeiners to direct the Clerk Administrator to go <br />forward with the Interim Agreement, as listed in the December 11, 1998 staff report. <br />VOTE: Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 The motion carried. <br />Kessel said no response had been received on the RFP for bar service at the Community Center. <br />City Attorney Long recommended that a motion be made authorizing the Mayor and Clerk <br />Administrator to execute a transitional agreement with the YMCA. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Koopmeiners to authorize staff to develop an interim agreement <br />with the YMCA for management of the Community Center and authorize the Mayor and Clerk <br />Administrator to execute that on an interim basis. <br />VOTE: Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 The motion carried. <br />City Attorney Long noted the City has created the new provision of the Code and Intoxicating <br />Liquor Licenses, Chapter 500, entitled "Special Banquet Licenses," which allows an existing On- <br />Sale Licensed facility in the City of Mounds View or where a contiguous city has issued a <br />license to dispense liquor with a temporary license for certain events at the Community Center. <br />To do so, the City has to follow the provisions in the Code for issuing a new license, which are <br />covered in Section 502.08. <br />8. REPORTS <br />Quick No Report <br />Koopmeiners No Report <br />Stigney No Report, but wished everybody a happy holiday. <br />Gunn No Report <br />Mayor McCarty announced that there are vacancies on the Charter Commission, and according <br />to City Records, there will be seven other commission and/or board seats nearing their expiration <br />dates. Quick asked if all reapplications have met the certification or requirements necessary for <br />the applied for commission. <br />Mayor McGarry said the new Council Members will be sworn in on January 4, 1999.
