ITEM 9C Consideration of hiring Carl New, consultant for. the Council staff retreat. Cari Schmidt stated: We received today a packet of information from Carl Neu, a facilitator that has worked for the City of Mounds View before. The fees for Mr. Neu's services are $3500, plus reimbursement for travel expenses and materials. He has given a list of dates that he is available for a Friday and Saturday retreat, and if the Council so desires will move for authorization to look for another consultant or to enter into an agreement with Mr. Neu for the Council staff retreat. Mayor Coughlin adds we would like to be penciled in on March 12-13, in light of the fact that Mr. Neu's memo even said that one of the dates that he had given over the phone to Cari was snatched up already. Council said at work session, sooner rather than later, to lock that in temporarily, and to pencil it in for 24 hours in light of what the Council may or may not do tonight. Motion/Second: Quick/Marty. Motion to hire Carl Neu for the dates of March 12-13, Friday and Saturday, and needs for his two-day workshops, $3500, plus reimbursements for materials, clerical charges, travel expenses. Mayor Coughlin adds that he cannot say enough about the style, insight and the passion that Carl Neu has.
