It is important to note that any contract entered into by the SBMFD and the City of Fridley, must first be approved by the SBMFD Board of Directors, Spring Lake Park City Council, Blaine City Council and Mounds View City Council. SBMFD PROFILE The Spring Lake Park -Blaine -Mounds View Fire Department (SBMFD), also known as the Spring Lake Park Fire Department, Incorporated, was founded in 1944 and serves three communities totaling 85,000 permanent residents with a service area of 40 square miles. The SBMFD is a non-profit corporation that receives its annual funding from the three cities it serves. Our mission, vision and values guide our organization.
