Item No: 8.H. <br />Meeting Date: September 10, 2018 <br />MOUMSVIEW Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator review: <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9015, One-time allocation increase for <br />Administrative Support Position <br />Background <br />Prior to interim and permanent employment of Administrator Zikmund Council adopted <br />resolution to re-employ Ms. Barbara Benesch up to 20 hours per week as an <br />administrative assistant. As part of the hiring process of Administrator Zikmund the <br />administrative assistant position was made permanent and funded at 12 hours per week <br />nicr_im_ginn <br />Due to the workload, and specific to licensing and records management data storage; the <br />volume of work as significant and has resulting in the funding approved by council, to <br />have run out. A one-time additional allocation of $9,800 from current year reserves will <br />permit continuous employment thru the end of the year at 16 hours per week. This <br />allocation covers wages and all taxes. <br />The Personnel Committee comprised of Council Members Hull and Meehlhause have <br />reviewed and discussed and are recommending support. <br />The proposed 2019 budget contains sufficient funding to maintain 16 hours per week. <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution 9015 authorizing a one-time appropriation to <br />fund continuous employment of administrative support position. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Nyle Zi un - <br />City A ministrator <br />
