Mounds View City Council August 27, 2018 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller stated she asked to pull this item for further discussion. She explained the <br />Council had discussed eliminating the live streaming of some City meetings, but noted the <br />meetings would still be broadcast later or available for web streaming. She indicated the City <br />was running into personnel issues and a temporary suspension of these Ordinances would remove <br />the requirement to live stream all meetings. She commented this was also a budget decision that <br />would reduce City costs. She reported the entire City Council supported the proposed Resolution <br />suspensions. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9008, <br />Temporary Suspension of Resolution 5396, 5501, 5557 and 7583. <br /> <br />Council Member Bergeron reported this was an experimentation period that would run from <br />September 1 through December 31. It was noted this was not a permanent change. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause indicated the Council meetings would continue to be shown live, <br />along with the Planning Commission meetings. However, he explained the Park Recreation and <br />Forestry Commission, Charter Commission, and EDC would be broadcast later and would not be <br />shown live. Finance Director Beer noted the proposed change would allow staff to spend more <br />time on other productions. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller stated it was her hope the public would provide the City with feedback regarding <br />the temporary suspension and if this was impacting the community in a positive or negative <br />manner. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 1 (Mueller) Motion carried. <br /> <br />6. Proclamation for National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller read a proclamation in full for the record declaring October 15, 2018 to be <br />National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day in the City of Mounds View. <br /> <br /> B. Presentation by Mounds View Police Foundation. <br /> <br />Katrina Joseph, Mounds View Police Foundation, discussed the work being completed by the <br />Mounds View Police Foundation. She explained the group has six voting members that serve, <br />along with Police Chief Harder. She thanked the City Council for their support over the years. <br />She reported the mission of the Mounds View Police Foundation was to raise and grant funds to <br />the Mounds View Police Department to assist in its continuing education of police officers, <br />training of police officers, and community policing, outreach and education, to include the
