• Purchases supplies as needed for production and technical work. <br />• Assists in preparation of an annual departmental budget with City Staff. <br />• Supervises the use of equipment by others. <br />• Prepares grant applications for Cable TV equipment or programming projects. <br />• Coordinates with CTV15 and other programming agencies/organizations to <br />benefit the community. <br />• Schedules crew members and talent for recordings as necessary. <br />• Arranges use of CTV15 facilities including edit suite and use of the mobile truck <br />for special programs such as the Festival parade and the town hall meeting. <br />• Prepares and maintains current operating procedure checklist for various <br />components of the city's audio/visual equipment which will enable others to <br />operate equipment in absence of the Cable Television Coordinator. <br />• Promotes Channel 16 programs with publication of weekly schedule and writing <br />press releases to community newspapers of special programs. Contributes <br />articles to city newsletter. <br />• Web maintenance pertaining to Mounds View Cable Television. <br />• Maintains skills and abilities to update the Mounds View electronic message <br />board as directed by the City Administrator.. <br />PERIPHERAL DUTIES <br />• Assists in other areas as designated <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />(A) High school diploma or GED equivalent. <br />(B) AAS Degree or two years vocational/technical school in video production. <br />(C) Ability to operate all TV, video editing and computer equipment. <br />(D) Experience in municipal/government access production. <br />NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />(A) Considerable knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques <br />used in comprehensive government access programming. <br />(B) Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment. <br />(C) Ability to develop, coordinate, and direct varied activities involved in government <br />access programming. <br />(D) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, <br />supervisors, vendors, contractors, participants, and the general public. <br />(E) Knowledge in editing equipment, character generator and graphics programs. <br />Must be Proficient in computers to include Microsoft Office Applications. <br />(F) Writing and editing skills. <br />(G) Attention to detail and organizational skills. <br />JOB EXPECTATIONS <br />Employee is expected to be available for meetings after normal City business hours. <br />Work shift times may vary. Employee may occasionally have to work flexible hours, as <br />directed by the City Administrator. <br />
