MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING VCET OFFICER SPECIALTY PAY This Memorandum of Understanding is made between the City of Mounds View (“City”) and Law Enforcement Labor Services, Inc., Local #204 (“Union.”) WHEREAS, the City and Union are parties to a 2017-2019 collective bargaining agreement; and WHEREAS, during the term of this agreement, a Police Officer has been assigned as a Violent Crime Enforcement Team (VCET) Officer with the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department; and WHEREAS, this investigative assignment is not specifically identified for additional compensation in the current January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2019 Law Enforcement Labor Services, Inc., Local #204 Labor Agreement; and WHEREAS, the City and Union wish to fairly remedy this compensation matter; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the parties hereto agree as follows: 1. Assignment of officers to VCET duties is the prerogative of the Employer, for a term determined by the Police Chief; 2. Officers assigned to the VCET assignment shall receive specialty pay consistent with other Mounds View Police Investigators; 3. During the term of this contract specialty pay for Investigators is set at $300 per month; 4. Upon completion of the assignment and/or return to regular duty, the specialty pay for this assignment also ends; 5. This memorandum of understanding (MOU) becomes effective following approval by both parties and shall remain in effect until a successor agreement is entered into by both parties. In witness whereof, the parties have executed this Memorandum of Understanding on the ___ day of ____________, 2019.
