<br />Item No: 8D <br />Meeting Date: January 28, 2019 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator review: _______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resources Coordinator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9072, Approving a Wage Adjustment for the <br />Assistant City Administrator Position <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The City Council approved the promotion of Brian Beeman from Business Development <br />Coordinator to Assistant City Administrator during the December 10, 2018 Council <br />meeting. Mr. Beeman started in the new position effective January 1, 2019 at Step 1 of <br />the Pay Plan. After accepting the promotion Mr. Beeman requested consideration for a <br />higher wage based on his years of experience and considerable background in local <br />government. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />The Human Resources Committee met on January 17, 2019 to discuss the possibility of <br />adjusting Mr. Beeman’s wage based on his experience and background. All members <br />of the HR Committee agreed Mr. Beeman presents a wealth of knowledge to the <br />organization and merits the wage increase. The HR Committee recommended moving <br />Mr. Beeman to Step 4 effective with the next payroll. This would reflect a financial <br />impact to the City of $9,553.
