Item No: 08B <br />Meeting Date: November 13, 2018 <br />MOUNDS VfE-W Type of Business: CB <br />Administrator Review: <br />Oty of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9027, Approving a Garbage/Recycling Hauler <br />License for Curbside Waste, Inc. <br />Discussion: <br />Curbside Waste, Inc., is requesting a Garbage/Recycling Hauler License to operate in <br />the City of Mounds View. They will be picking up for both residential and commercial <br />properties and will be hauling garbage, yard waste, and recycling materials. Curbside <br />Waste, Inc., has submitted all application materials and paid the appropriate fees as <br />required by the City. <br />Curbside Waste was issued a City hauler license in April 2014. That license expired <br />June 30, 2014. Curbside Waste renewed that license for the following year, the 2014- <br />2015 license period. Curbside Waste had not renewed since then until this application. <br />While there were initial issues with the application and insurance, all issues have been <br />addressed and resolved to the City's requirements and satisfaction. Based on their <br />efforts to come into compliance and in consultation with both our prosecuting and city <br />attorney, they have been operating for a short period of time under my verbal approval <br />with understanding formal council approval is required. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution 9027 approving a <br />Garbage/Recycling Hauler License for Curbside Waste, Inc. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Nyl,EvZik nd <br />
