Mounds View City Council October 22, 2018 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br />1 Council Member Meehlhause reported he would be attending an NYFS Board meeting on <br />2 Thursday, October 25th. He explained NYFS was working with a search firm in order to find its <br />3 next President and CEO as Jerry Hromatka would be stepping down as of July 2020. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Mueller thanked the League of Women Voters for hosting a Candidate Forum last <br />6 Thursday. <br />7 <br />8 Mayor Mueller commented on the issues that were discussed by the Festival in the Park Committee <br />9 at their Tuesday, October 16th meeting. She explained this group would meet next on Tuesday, <br />10 January 15, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center. She noted the group was seeking <br />11 volunteers to assist with fundraising, the crafts fair, and social media efforts. She announced <br />12 Festival in the Park for 2019 would be held at Silver View Park. <br />13 <br />14 Mayor Mueller stated the Council held a Strategic Planning Retreat on Monday, October 15th <br />15 <br />16 B. Reports of Staff. <br />17 <br />18 Finance Director Beer reported health insurance rates were in for 2019 and open enrollment would <br />19 begin on November 7th for all employees. <br />20 <br />21 City Administrator Zikmund provided the Council with an update on the splash pad. <br />22 <br />23 City Administrator Zikmund commented on a production event that was being pursued by CTV to <br />24 educate Mounds View residents. He asked that the City Council consider making <br />25 recommendations for an upcoming production event. He explained there would not be a cost <br />26 associated with these production events. <br />27 <br />28 Mayor Mueller suggested Emerald Ash Borer be considered for an upcoming production by CTV. <br />29 <br />30 City Administrator Zikmund commented on upcoming training events that were being planned by <br />31 Ramsey County that would address diversity. <br />32 <br />33 City Administrator Zikmund reported he was working to plan a neighborhood meeting for Long <br />34 Lake Woods. It was his hope the meeting could be held on Tuesday, November 20th <br />35 <br />36 City Administrator Zikmund explained staff had received estimates for the storm water damage <br />37 that occurred at Long View Estates. He stated he would be reaching out to the developer to address <br />38 this matter. <br />39 <br />40 City Administrator Zikmund updated the Council on the open position within the Police <br />41 Department. He noted final interviews would be conducted on Wednesday for the final two <br />42 candidates. <br />43 <br />44 C.
