To: Jon Sevald <ion.sevaldl@moundsviewmn.org>
Subject: RE: Questions aon Edgewood Middle School public hearing notice
Hi Jon,
Thank you for the reply. We are EXTREMELY Disappointed that the notice DID NOT indicate the new
Woodale driveway as proposed. This is huge over sight and should require the public to be notified
of such a change. Is the city going to resend a new notice of this proposed change as it is a major
change to the area.
PLEASE — make our reply voiced at the public hearing as we are NOT in favor of this driveway to
Woodale. If there is a mandatory reason to have a driveway here it should be at a 4 way stop on
Woodale and Greenfield as the traffic pattern is already fast and high volume. This type of change is
NOT a good one as the majority of the parking lot will be exiting on this exit to get to Mounds View
Blvd. and is already speeding and creating excessive noise and traffic. Not to mention that
pedestrians already use the south side of Woodale to walk on creating even more potential for
accidents.
Again NO NOTICE of this new driveway to Woodale is NOT the way a proposed building variance
notice should be approved. Everyone I spoke with is NOT in favor of this exit to Woodale and has
NEVER heard of a notice.
Thanks for your reply and I hope this driveway is shot down as it creates a real stress for the
neighborhood and makes quality of life in the area very poor. Mounds View has been making
changes that are NOT residential friendly and should STOP. Unless plans to buyout the
neighborhood are in works Mounds View has driven quality of life off the edge and this should stop.
Best Regards,
Mark
From: Jon Sevald[mailto:jon.sevald(a)moundsviewmn.org]
Sent: Friday, November 02, 2018 3:40 PM
To: 'mgavett'
Subject: RE: Questions aon Edgewood Middle School public hearing notice
Mark & Debbie,
Thank you for your email. It will be shared with the Planning Commission.
First;
There will be a sidewalk along the south driveway, between Co Rd H and the school building. The
sidewalk will dead-end at Co Rd H, lining up with the trail entrance into Long Lake Regional Park. The
County has reviewed, and determined (today) that only one crosswalk is warranted (at this point or
at Edgewood Dr intersection). That said, there's an obvious safety concern of kids crossing Co Rd H
at this point without a crosswalk.
