RESOLUTION 9081 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH BERGERSON CASWELL INC. FOR 2019 MUNICIPAL WELL NO. 2 REHABILITATION PROJECT WHEREAS, the City established a maintenance program whereby municipal wells, pumps, and motors would be rehabilitated on a seven-year cycle; and WHEREAS, Municipal Well No. 2 was last rehabilitated in 2010 and is scheduled for rehabilitation in 2019; and WHEREAS, Staff solicited and received five quotes as follows; and Rank Contractor Quote Low Bergerson Caswell, Inc. $47,060 2 Thein Well Company, Inc. $53,282 3 Keys Well Drilling Company $61,795 4 E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. $68,050 5 Mark J Traut Wells, Inc. $85,880 WHEREAS, Bergerson Caswell Inc. of Maple Plain, Minnesota submitted the lowest total base quote in the amount of $47,060; and WHEREAS, City Staff recommend approving a construction contract with Bergerson Caswell Inc. to perform the rehabilitation work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. The City hereby accepts the base quote proposed for $47,060 submitted by Bergerson Caswell Inc. of Maple Plain Minnesota for the 2019 Municipal Well No. 2 Rehabilitation Project (City Project No. 2018-C01). 2. City Staff is authorized to prepare a construction contract agreement between the City of Mounds View and Bergerson Caswell Inc. for $47,060. 3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City, to execute and enter into a construction contract agreement with Bergerson Caswell Inc. for said project for said price. 4. Monies for the Project shall be funded by the Water Enterprise Fund account (700- 4823-7050) in an amount not to exceed $51,766, which includes a 10% construction contingency of $4,706 for minor work associated with Project unknowns.
