Mounds View City Council March 11, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller reported she attended the Five Cities Mayors meeting on Monday, March 11th 1 <br />with City Administrator Zikmund. Those in attendance discussed the activities occurring in their 2 <br />community. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Mayor Mueller noted the Ramsey County League of Local Government would be meeting again 5 <br />on Thursday, March 14th at 5:30 p.m. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Mayor Mueller reported Minnesota Women in City Government would be meeting next on 8 <br />Friday, March 29th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 9 <br /> 10 <br /> B. Reports of Staff. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Finance Director Beer reported the City’s audit was not complete and noted the auditor would be 13 <br />attending a Council meeting in April to present the audit. 14 <br /> 15 <br />City Administrator Zikmund provided the Council with an update from the Charter Commission. 16 <br /> 17 <br />City Administrator Zikmund updated the Council on Tires N More property and discussed how 18 <br />staff was working to address this property. 19 <br /> 20 <br />City Administrator Zikmund stated in a sidebar conversation he had with the City Attorney he 21 <br />recommended staff sit down and speak with the developer that attended the EDA meeting to see 22 <br />if they were within the price range for the Skyline Motel property. 23 <br /> 24 <br />City Administrator Zikmund updated the Council on an article that was completed by a KARE 25 <br />11 reporter and provided the Council with a handout on the communications staff has had with 26 <br />the reporter. 27 <br /> 28 <br />C. Reports of City Attorney. 29 <br /> 30 <br />City Attorney Riggs updated the Council on the facts concerning the KARE 11 article. He 31 <br />discussed how City staff interpreted this matter and reported staff may be discussing this matter 32 <br />with local legislators. He explained the facts provided by staff to the reporter did not support the 33 <br />conclusions that were made. He reported staff was attempting to follow the letter of the law. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Mayor Mueller read the City’s written response to the reporter in full for the record. 36 <br /> 37 <br />10.
