Mounds View City Council March 11, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller reported she attended the Five Cities Mayors meeting on Monday, March 11th <br />with City Administrator Zikmund. Those in attendance discussed the activities occurring in their <br />community. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller noted the Ramsey County League of Local Government would be meeting again <br />on Thursday, March 14th at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller reported Minnesota Women in City Government would be meeting next on <br />Friday, March 29th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> B. Reports of Staff. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer reported the City’s audit was complete and noted the auditor would be <br />attending a Council meeting in April to present the audit. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund provided the Council with an update from the Charter Commission. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund updated the Council on Tires N More property and discussed how <br />staff was working to address this property. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund stated in a sidebar conversation he had with the City Attorney he <br />recommended staff sit down and speak with the developer that attended the EDA meeting to see <br />if they were within the price range for the Skyline Motel property. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund updated the Council on an article that was completed by a KARE <br />11 reporter and provided the Council with a handout on the communications staff has had with <br />the reporter. <br /> <br />C. Reports of City Attorney. <br /> <br />City Attorney Riggs updated the Council on the facts concerning the KARE 11 article. He <br />discussed how City staff interpreted this matter and reported staff may be discussing this matter <br />with local legislators. He explained the facts provided by staff to the reporter did not support the <br />conclusions that were made. He reported staff was attempting to follow the letter of the law. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller read the City’s written response to the reporter in full for the record. <br /> <br />10. Next Council Work Session: Monday, April 1, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. <br />Next Council Meeting: Monday, March 25, 2019, at 6:30 p.m.
