JOINT -POWERS AGREEMENT <br />City of Mounds View/SBM Fire <br />2019 Street and Utility Improvement Project including <br />Reconstruction of SBM Parking Lot <br />City of Mounds View Project No. 2018-004 <br />THIS JOINT -POWERS AGREEMENT (the "Agreement") is made and entered on this <br />22nd day of April 2019, by and between Spring Lake Fire Department, Inc., an independent <br />nonprofit firefighting corporation organized under the laws of the state of Minnesota, d/b/a SBM <br />Fire ("SBM"), and the City of Mounds View, a Minnesota municipal corporation ("City") <br />WHEREAS, SBM and the City, pursuant to the provision of Minnesota Statutes, Chapter <br />471.59, are authorized to enter into agreements to exercise jointly the governmental powers and <br />functions each has individually; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City is proposing to conduct roadway reconstruction and associated <br />improvements on Woodale Drive and Silver View Park, parking lot, as a part of the Mounds View <br />2019 Street and Utility Improvements Project (the "Project"); and, <br />WHEREAS, SBM occupies a parcel located at 1710 County Highway 10 NE, where it <br />operates a fire station and associated parking area; and, <br />WHEREAS, SBM has requested that the City include reconstruction of its parking area in <br />the Project in order to save costs; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City agrees to include the subject work listed above, consistent with the <br />feasibility study and design plans, as a part of its 2019 Street and Utility Improvement Project; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the City has contracted with a consulting engineer, Stantec Consulting <br />Services Inc., to prepare a feasibility report and final plans and specifications for said <br />improvements to Woodale Drive, Silver View Park parking lot and SMB Fire Station #1 . <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
