Mounds View City Council April 22, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />7. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br /> B. Peter Lindstrom – Met Council Board Member, District 10. <br /> <br />Peter Lindstrom, Met Council Board Member for District 10, introduced himself to the Council. <br />He stated he would be attending a Council worksession meeting in June to allow for further <br />discussion. He commented on how the metro area was proposed to grow over the next 10 years. <br />He discussed the work the Met Council does for the metro area and explained he began his <br />municipal work in the City of Mounds View as a recycling coordinator. He indicated he looks <br />forward to working with the Mounds View City Council and encouraged the Council to contact <br />him with comments or questions. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller thanked Mr. Lindstrom for his time and encouraged him to fight for additional <br />transit opportunities for the City of Mounds View. <br /> <br /> C. Audit Presentation – Aaron Nielsen, Partner MMKR. <br /> <br />Aaron Nielsen, MMKR, reviewed the 2018 audit with the Council. He explained MMKR <br />offered the City a clean or unmodified opinion on its financial statements. He discussed the <br />estimated market value and tax capacity rates for Mounds View. He commented on the General <br />Fund financial position, reviewing both revenues and expenditures. He provided further <br />comment on the City’s utility funds and commended the City on its strong financial position. He <br />thanked the Council for their time and asked for comments or questions. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller thanked Mr. Nielsen for his thorough report on the City’s financial position. <br /> <br /> D. Proclamation – Building Safety Month - May. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller read a proclamation in full for the record declaring May to be Building Safety <br />Month in the City of Mounds View. <br /> <br /> A. Resolution 9102, Resolution of Appreciation to Willard Doty for his Service <br />on the Mounds View Charter Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller read a Resolution in full for the record thanking Willard Doty for his years of <br />dedicated service on the Mounds View Charter Commission. A round of applause was offered <br />by all in attendance. <br /> <br />Williard Doty thanked the Council for this recognition and commented on the history of the <br />Charter Commission. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Adopt Resolution 9102, Resolution of <br />Appreciation to Willard Doty for his Service on the Mounds View Charter Commission. <br />
