The City of Mounds View issued liquor licenses for the subject businesses in 2018 and their renewals are before the City Council for consideration as they will expire June 30, 2019. Discussion: All applicants have submitted their city liquor license application materials and the applicable fees with the exception of Speedway #4264. We are still waiting for their liquor liability insurance. They are aware that we have not received it and are working on getting it to us. The following investigations and inspections have been conducted to determine whether there is cause for the City to consider denial of any of the above referenced liquor license applications: Police Inquiry and Investigations From May 18, 2019 to May 18, 2019 the Mounds View Police Department responded to the following numbers of calls: Merwin Liquors 16 calls Moe’s American Grill 19 calls Mounds View 15 Theater 50 calls Speedway (formerly S/A) 114 calls Mermaid/AmericInn 105 calls Vino & Stogies 24 calls Utility Billing Inquiry Moe’s American Grill has an outstanding water/sewer bill in the amount of $8,680.64. Staff has been in contact with the owner, Mr. Jeff Moritko, who has requested that the City divide the total amount due in four equal payments with the first payment being due by June 21, 2019 and the remaining three payment due on 21st of each month thereafter. In addition, he is pledging that Moe’s will stay current to avoid this issue in the future. MN Department of Revenue No violations were found. Ramsey County Taxation All property taxes are current to date.
