Solomon Tilleskjor,
7534 Greenfield Avenue, has applied for a residential dog kennel license.

Discussion:
Solomon Tilleskjor owns the home located at 7534 Greenfield Avenue. Currently, Mr. Tilleskjor
has three dogs. Diesel is a Lab/German Shepard Mix, Rem is a German Short Hair, and Bolt is
a Husky. The dogs are family pets and will not be used for breeding. All of the dogs are current
on their rabies vaccinations and each has a Mounds View Dog License. Mr. Tilleskjor indicates
that there is not an outside kennel on the property.

As required, the City has published notice of this meeting in the New Brighton-Mounds View
Bulletin and has sent a notice to property owners within five hundred feet (500’) of the subject
property at least ten (10) days before this public hearing.

Kennel licenses expire each year on June 30, 2019. However, staff is recommending that this
first kennel license expire June 30, 2020.

According to the Mounds View Police Department, there are no animal complaints on file for this
address within the past year.

Solomon has been asked to be present at this meeting to answer any questions.

Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Our ordinance and this application are consistent with the
Vision Statement – “Welcoming and desirable destination to all ages and cultures…and a place
where residents can live, work and play.

Financial Impact: None.

Recommendation:
Staff recommends opening the public hearing for public comment, and approving Resolution No.
9107.

Respectfully submitted,

_______________________
Nyle Zikmund
City Administrator
