Mounds View City Council April 22, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked how the City would be reimbursed for this portion of the 2 <br />project. Finance Director Beer explained the Fire Department would pay the City back for this 3 <br />expense in 2019, noting the JPA had a mechanism in place. 4 <br /> 5 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 6 <br />9103, SBM Parking Lot Rehabilitation in Conjunction with 2019 Street Project and Approve the 7 <br />Joint Powers Agreement (JPA). 8 <br /> 9 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 10 <br /> 11 <br />C. Resolution 9104, Approval for the Replacement of the Exterior Doors at the 12 <br />Mounds View Community Center. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Public Works Director Peterson requested the Council approve the replacement of the exterior 15 <br />doors at the Mounds View Community Center. He explained staff has had trouble the past few 16 <br />months securing the existing doors and keeping the doors locked. For this reason, staff was 17 <br />recommending the replacement of the exterior doors, noting the expense would be paid for 18 <br />through the Special Projects Fund. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Council Member Gunn asked if just the front doors were being replaced. Public Works Director 21 <br />Peterson explained the two west doors and two north doors would be replaced. He noted the 22 <br />work would be completed as soon as possible. 23 <br /> 24 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9104, 25 <br />Approval for the Replacement of the Exterior Doors at the Mounds View Community Center. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Mayor Mueller thanked the Community Center staff for delaying a project in order to allow the 28 <br />City to replace the exterior doors. 29 <br /> 30 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 31 <br /> 32 <br />D. Resolution 9105, Approving the Purchase of a Floor Sweeper Scrubber for 33 <br />the Public Works Facility. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Public Works Director Peterson requested the Council approve the purchase of a floor sweeper 36 <br />scrubber for the Public Works Facility. He discussed the cleaning process that had to be 37 <br />followed at the new Public Works Facility and explained the floor sweeper scrubber was a 38 <br />budgeted item for 2019. He reviewed the cost for this item, noting the cost was higher than 39 <br />anticipated. He described how staff could cover the expense by altering several purchases in 40 <br />2019 and through the sale of other pieces of Public Works equipment. Staff recommended 41 <br />approval of the purchase from the Vehicle Equipment Fund. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Council Member Bergeron thanked staff for working diligently to come up with a strategy to 44 <br />cover the expense for this piece of equipment. 45
