Mounds View City Council June 10, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 10 <br />1 <br />2 Council Member Meehlhause stated the YMCA Advisory Committee met last Monday where it <br />3 was noted a part-time senior programmer was hired. He noted summer programming at the <br />4 YMCA began this week. He reviewed the field and event center usage for 2019 with the Council. <br />5 <br />6 Council Member Meehlhause reviewed his upcoming meeting schedule. He explained the <br />7 Mounds View Business Council would be meeting on Wednesday, June 12th at the Mermaid at <br />8 7:30 a.m. He noted he would be attending an NYFS Executive Committee meeting on Thursday, <br />9 June 13th and an NYFS HR Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 19th <br />10 <br />i l Council Member Bergeron stated he attended a Cable Commission meeting last week. He noted <br />12 CenturyLink had under paid on their franchise fees and would be making an adjustment. He <br />13 cautioned people from signing contracts with cable companies as they may have language that <br />14 includes the placement of wireless infrastructure on homes. He explained the National League of <br />15 Cities was working with the FCC to address this concern. <br />16 <br />17 Council Member Bergeron requested staff be directed to compose a letter of condolences and <br />18 support to the Council, staff and residents of Virginia Beach, Virginia for the recent events that <br />19 occurred at their municipal facility. <br />20 <br />21 MOTION/SECOND: Bergeron/Gunn. She indicated she was praying for a dry spell <br />33 to allow the water in the City to dry up. <br />34 <br />35 Mayor Mueller reported the Ramsey County League of Local Government would be meeting on <br />36 Thursday, June 131h in Shoreview at 5:00 p.m. <br />37 <br />38 Mayor Mueller commented Festival in the Park would be held at Silver View Park this year on <br />39 Saturday, August 171h <br />40 <br />41 Mayor Mueller indicated the splash pad at City Hall Park was nearing completion. She <br />42 anticipated the splash pad would be open shortly after the 41h of July. <br />43 <br />44 Council Member Hull reported some landlords were not completing background checks and were <br />45 not fixing buildings.
