Mounds View City Council September 9, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br />1 MOTION/SECOND: Bergeron/Gunn. To Waive the Second Reading and Adopt Ordinance <br />2 961, Amending Chapter 500 Section 512 Tobacco Products and Ordering Summary Publication. <br />3 <br />4 ROLL CALL: Bergeron/Gunn/Hull/Meehlhause/Mueller. <br />5 <br />6 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />7 <br />8 G. Resolution 9158, Recommending Appointment to Charter Commission. <br />9 <br />10 Assistant City Administrator Beeman requested the Council adopt a Resolution recommending <br />I t an appointment to the Charter Commission. He suggested the Council review the applications <br />12 and make a recommendation regarding the Charter Commission vacancy. <br />13 <br />14 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9158, <br />15 Recommending the Appointment of Robert King to Charter Commission. <br />16 <br />17 Mayor Mueller supported the appointment of Robert King given the fact he was the first <br />18 individual that stepped forward to submit an application. <br />19 <br />20 Council Member Gunn encouraged the other individuals that submitted an appointment for the <br />21 Charter Commission to consider volunteering on another City Commission. <br />22 <br />23 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />24 <br />25 9. REPORTS <br />26 A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br />27 <br />28 Council Member Hull reviewed the 2nd quarter police report with the Council and noted traffic <br />29 stops were up considerably. He explained the Police Department's additional officer was making <br />30 a difference. <br />31 <br />32 Council Member Bergeron stated last Thursday, September 5th he attended a North Suburban <br />33 Cable Commission meeting where the group discussed the 2020 budget and FCC regulations. <br />34 <br />35 Council Member Bergeron noted he would be taking in a webinar on Open Meeting Laws later <br />36 this week. <br />37 <br />38 Council Member Meehlhause reported the Mounds View Business Council would be meeting on <br />39 Wednesday, September 11th at 7:30 a.m. at the Mermaid. <br />40 <br />41 Council Member Meehlhause stated on Saturday, September 14th the SBM Fire Department <br />42 would be having their 75 Year Anniversary Celebration at the National Sports Center in Blaine. <br />43 <br />44 Council Member Meehlhause commented on Tuesday, September 17th he would be attending a <br />45 Twin Cities Gateway Board meeting where the 2020 budget would be discussed. <br />
