RESOLUTION 9186 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE 2017 MUNICIPAL INFLOW AND INFILTRATION GRANT REQUEST <br />TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota State Legislature has appropriated $8,739,000.00 in <br />general obligation bond funds for grants to municipalities to reduce Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) <br />in their public system infrastructure; and <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) was identified <br />originally as the 2014 Municipal Inflow and Infiltration Grant Program (the Program) <br />administrator; and <br />WHEREAS, the MCES has identified the City of Mounds View as one of many metro <br />cities having excessive quantities of stormwater and groundwater, commonly referred to as <br />&I, entering the public sanitary system; and <br />WHEREAS, to facilitate I&I reduction, the MCES is offering a Preliminary Minimum <br />Allocation of $25,000 per metro city, with provisions for future distribution of available funding <br />until the total of $8,7369,000 has been expended; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has identified public sanitary sewer system <br />components requiring rehabilitation to minimize or eliminate excessive I&I. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The City Council approves the application for the MCES 2017 Municipal Inflow and <br />Infiltration Grant Program. <br />2. The City with retain all receipts and invoices for eligible repairs and that the MCES shall <br />have reasonable access to audit these records upon request. <br />Adopted this 12t" day of November, 2019 <br />Carol A.
