EDC Minutes <br />November 16, 2018 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />MWF Developers <br /> <br />Beeman informed the Commission that MWF Properties is actively demolishing the site <br />in preparation for construction which is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. <br /> <br />The Triton <br /> <br />Beeman informed the commission that The Triton project at the Skyline Hotel site was <br />not successful in acquiring its federal tax credits necessary to make the project a reality. <br />Instead, the developer is now seeking interested parties to assume the purchase <br />agreement by December 31, 2018. Beeman has contacted all of the local companies <br />that have shown interest in the past in either building their own building or expanding. In <br />addition, Bauer Welding as about 5 acres to the rear of their property that they are willing <br />to sell for a development project. Potentially, both the Bauer and Skyline property could <br />be combined into one development or several smaller developments. The EDA will <br />consider their options at a December meeting. <br /> <br />Other Upcoming Events/Reports <br /> <br />Chair Freichels asked about the recent Business Retention & Expansion visit with CoAg <br />Medical. Commissioner Helgemoe and Muckala provided an update on the many uses <br />for BleedStop and its practical application in the military, law enforcement, and other <br />emergency situations including everyday use and pets. It’s an organic substance that <br />stops bleeding immediately and they manufacture the product in Mounds View. The <br />product is promoted nationally and can be found in Walmart, Menards, and other retail <br />outlets. Council Member Meehlhause stated that there is only one shift operating but <br />there is room for growth for more shifts and space capacity and they are adding a <br />second clean room. <br /> <br />Beeman reminded the Commission that City offices will be closed November 22-23, <br />2018 in observance of Thanksgiving. <br /> <br />8. REPORTS OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Helgemoe asked about the Snyder’s building. Beeman informed the <br />Commission that an interested party is actively seeking a purchase agreement for a <br />restaurant type of use however the potential new owner is working through some <br />contingencies such as the City’s parking codes and access from Mounds View <br />Boulevard. Stevenson informed the Commission that the Planning Commission has <br />worked with business in the past on parking issues but couldn’t guarantee that would be <br />the case in this situation. The EDC Commissioners seemed encouraged by the news. <br />Helgemoe asked about the El Loro site. Beeman said there has been plenty of <br />interested parties but the lease is still too high. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
