Mounds View City Council December 9, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br />Retreats, and the Town Hall Meeting Dates. 1 <br /> 2 <br />City Administrator Zikmund reviewed the 2020 City Council meeting, council/staff retreats and 3 <br />the town hall meeting dates with the Council. He requested the Council discuss when to hold the 4 <br />Council retreat and recommended approval of the proposed meeting schedule. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Mayor Mueller recommended the Council/staff retreats be held on Monday, March 16th (budget 7 <br />discussion), Monday, May 18th (strategic planning), and Monday, September 21st (team building) 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated he supported the Council attending a team building retreat 10 <br />but explained it may be of more value to hold this event earlier in the year. City Administrator 11 <br />Zikmund commented the team building retreat could be held in March or May instead of 12 <br />September. 13 <br /> 14 <br />The consensus of the Council was to meet on March 16th for a team building retreat and on May 15 <br />18th for a budget retreat. It was noted the strategic plan would be addressed at Council 16 <br />worksession meetings. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Mayor Mueller asked if the Council would have to hold a special meeting on January 6th. City 19 <br />Administrator Zikmund reported this was the case. 20 <br /> 21 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9193, 22 <br />Approving the 2020 City Council Meeting, Council/Staff Retreats, and the Town Hall Meeting 23 <br />Dates. 24 <br /> 25 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 26 <br /> 27 <br />D. Resolution 9200, Approving Various Appointments to the City of Mounds 28 <br />View’s Boards, Commissions and Committees. 29 <br /> 30 <br />City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council approve appointments to the City’s boards, 31 <br />commissions and committees. He commented on the residents that submitted interest in serving 32 <br />the City and recommended approval of the appointments. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Council Member Hull stated he would like to see Ms. Mohammad serving on the Park, 35 <br />Recreation and Forestry Commission instead of Mary Zeiger. He indicated he would like to see 36 <br />Mary Zeiger replace Gary Rundle on the Planning Commission. 37 <br /> 38 <br />City Administrator Zikmund reported he had spoken with Ms. Mohammad in his office, along 39 <br />with Police Chief Harder and she was very excited to be serving ono the Mounds View Police 40 <br />Foundation and on the Civil Service Academy. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Council Member Meehlhause indicated the Planning Commission was Mary Zeiger’s second 43 <br />choice and the Park, Recreation and Forestry Commission was her first choice. He stated another 44 <br />option would be to replace Gary Rundle on the Park, Recreation and Forestry Commission with 45
