1/1 M E M O R A N D U M TO: PARKS AND RECREATION AND FORESTRY COMMISSION FROM: NICK DEBAR | PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: OCTOBER 22, 2009 RE: FIELD RESERVATION POLICY AND RENTAL FEE SCHEDULE Review Policy Establishing Priority for Use of City Athletic Facilities: The Commission has been discussing reservation policies for City-owned field use the past few meetings. In September, the Commission reviewed the policies of a couple nearby communities and thought it may be beneficial for Mounds View to have a similar policy. Commissioner Kroeger volunteered to draft a policy and Commissioners Arel, and Aukee offered to assist. Attached for review is the policy drafted by Commissioner Kroeger. Also attached for reference is Shoreview’s policy and Mounds View’s fee schedule which contains the classifications schedule for reservation and pricing (page 22). Review Community Center and Recreation Fee Schedule for 2010: The City is currently performing their annual review of the Citywide Fee Schedule for updates and revisions beginning in 2010. One of the Commission’s responsibilities is to advise the City Council on establishing fees and charges for use of park and recreation facilities and programs. City staff is seeking input from the Commission for any proposed changes in the attached fee schedule for 2010, including any revisions to the classification schedule for priority reservation and fee charges.
