Trailways System Master Plan - DRAFT 3 Goals and Objectives (Continued) 3. Provide and maintain a trailways system that can be used as an alternate transportation mode. a. Encourage application for grants and funding aid for trailway projects b. Promote a system to provide access to local points of destination such as civic centers, businesses, schools and libraries c. Promote a system that would provide an efficient means of destination orientation traffic d. Connect the trailways system with existing and future mass transportation systems e. Encourage the development of secure bicycle parking opportunities at existing commercial and industrial developments f. Advocate safe trailways through communication of requests and needs to roadway owners including Ramsey County and the Minnesota Department of Transportation 4. Publicize trail use opportunities in the community. a. Encourage citizen involvement through the specific trailway planning activities b. Provide and maintain trailway map in City parks and recreation publications c.
