DEPARTMENT OF PARKS,
RECREATION AND FORESTRY
January 11, 1989
Mounds View Lions Club
David Maas, President
5225 Sunnyside Rd.
Mounds View, MN 55112
Dear Mounds View Lions:
1
Cif of
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
2401 HIGHWAY10
MOUNDS VIEW, MINN. 55112
7843055
Thank you again for your interest in the picnic shelter project at
Silver View Park. I have enclosed three copies of master plans for
Silver View Park. The picnic shelter has been located on the flat
ground near on the south side of the parking lot. This location
has easy access from the parking lot and will have close proximity
to the walkway leading down to the pond and the tot lot play area
and sandlot volleyball court. It is in the middle of the proposed
family activity area.
For this reason, it is perfect for large picnic groups such as
family reunions, church picnics, company picnics, club potlucks,
etc. The easy access from the parking lot will help make it
handicapped accessible and will be convenient for transporting large
amounts of food and equipment necessary for serving large groups.
A shrub buffer will be planted between the parking lot and picnic
shelter for beautification.
There are some specific items that the Parks and Recreation
Commission would like to include in a picnic shelter. These
specifications are:
1. An enclosed area that can be used as a kitchen with running
water, sink and cupboards and electricity for use by large
groups. Since water and electricity are not available in the
park yet, this kitchen area would be roughed in for future
completion.
2. This enclosed area should include a serving window for buffets
or catered meals.
