Parks Shoreview Commons Park - This park will be the location of the community center. Other facilities that will be part of Shoreview Commons Park are lighted hockey, speed skating and free skating areas, bike/hike trails, landscaping around the community center, four lighted tennis courts and two additional tennis courts with hard court area. The improvements are to begin in May 1989, with the final items related to the community center completed in Fall 1990. Bucher Park - This park will be totally reconstructed to include two full size softball fields, a soccer/football field, a new hockey and free skating area, two tennis courts with a hard court area, bituminous paths, a volleyball court, a new parking lot and a park building. The proposed construction schedule is to begin in May 1989 with completion in October 1989. Other City Parks - McCullough, Sitzer. Lake Judy, Bobby Theisen, Wilson, and Shamrock Parks will each be upgraded with improvements. Some of the improvements scheduled are new park buildings, bike/hike trails, tennis courts with hard court areas, volleyball courts, horseshoe areas, play equipment, field irrigation, and picnic tables and shelters. The improvements are scheduled to begin in May 1989 with completion in October 1989. Trailways County Road I Trail -A trail is planned along County Road I from Hodgson Road west to Shamrock Park. This trail would generally follow the St. Paul waterworks right-of-way. The construction is proposed to begin in April 1989 and to be completed in August 1989. North Owasso Blvd/Arbogast Street - A trail is planned along North Owasso Boulevard and Arbogast Street from Rice Street to Victoria Street and north on Victoria to connect to the existing pathway near County Road E. The proposed construction is to begin in the spring of 1989 with completion in the fall of 1989. Willow Creek Trail - This trail will connect the Willow Creek neighborhoods from Knoll Drive to Willow Creek Lane. This would include a crossing over county ditch 1. The proposed construction would be in the summer of 1989. Vivian Avenue Trail -A trail is proposed along Vivian Avenue from Lake Judy Park to Bobby Theisen Park and Island Lake School as part of the City's street renewal program. The proposed construction is to begin in May 1989 with completion by September 1989. Roadway Reconstruction 1989 Street Renewal -This is the fourth year of the street renewal program. Streets in the renewal area are brought up to today's standards with concrete curb and gutters. The street renewal revolving fund pays for a majority or in some cases the total cost of the project. At the same time all utilities are repaired and/or installed. This years program is being constructed in the general area of Cannon and Vivian Avenues. Construction is to begin in May 1989 with completion in September 1989. County Road G2/Hodgson Con- nection - The jurisdiction of these two roadways is being transferred to the City from Ramsey County. The roadways are proposed to be constructed to a width of 36 feet and it is proposed to construct an on -road bike lane and an off-road sidewalk. The improvements are proposed to start in July 1989 with substantial completion in November 1989 and final completion by June of 1990. Water Projects Water Reservoir - The city's consulting engineer is currently designing a one million gallon underground reservoir and booster station to improve the city's water system. This reservoir will be located south of the City Hall building and will provide additional water storage and high service pumping to meet system demands. Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 1989 and to be completed in the spring of 1990. County Road I -Construction of trunk watermain line is proposed fron, Hodgson Road to Lexington Avenue to help in meeting the summer time peak demands. The proposed schedule is for construction to begin in March 1989 and to be completed by July 1989. Lexington Avenue/Victoria Street - This proposed trunk watermain project along Lexington Avenue between Victoria Street and County Road F is necessary to upgrade fire protection in the County Road F area. The proposed schedule is for construction to begin in the spring of 1989 and to be completed by the fall of 1989.
