Parks <br />Shoreview Commons Park - This park <br />will be the location of the community <br />center. <br />Other facilities that will be part of <br />Shoreview Commons Park are lighted <br />hockey, speed skating and free skating <br />areas, bike/hike trails, landscaping around <br />the community center, four lighted tennis <br />courts and two additional tennis courts with <br />hard court area. The improvements are to <br />begin in May 1989, with the final items <br />related to the community center completed <br />in Fall 1990. <br />Bucher Park - This park will be totally <br />reconstructed to include two full size <br />softball fields, a soccer/football field, a <br />new hockey and free skating area, two <br />tennis courts with a hard court area, <br />bituminous paths, a volleyball court, a new <br />parking lot and a park building. The <br />proposed construction schedule is to begin <br />in May 1989 with completion in October <br />1989. <br />Other City Parks - McCullough, <br />Sitzer. Lake Judy, Bobby Theisen, <br />Wilson, and Shamrock Parks will each be <br />upgraded with improvements. Some of the <br />improvements scheduled are new park <br />buildings, bike/hike trails, tennis courts <br />with hard court areas, volleyball courts, <br />horseshoe areas, play equipment, field <br />irrigation, and picnic tables and shelters. <br />The improvements are scheduled to begin <br />in May 1989 with completion in October <br />1989. <br />Trailways <br />County Road I Trail -A trail is <br />planned along County Road I from <br />Hodgson Road west to Shamrock Park. <br />This trail would generally follow the St. <br />Paul waterworks right-of-way. The <br />construction is proposed to begin in April <br />1989 and to be completed in August 1989. <br />North Owasso Blvd/Arbogast Street - <br />A trail is planned along North Owasso <br />Boulevard and Arbogast Street from Rice <br />Street to Victoria Street and north on <br />Victoria to connect to the existing pathway <br />near County Road E. The proposed <br />construction is to begin in the spring of <br />1989 with completion in the fall of 1989. <br />Willow Creek Trail - This trail will <br />connect the Willow Creek neighborhoods <br />from Knoll Drive to Willow Creek Lane. <br />This would include a crossing over county <br />ditch 1. The proposed construction would <br />be in the summer of 1989. <br />Vivian Avenue Trail -A trail is <br />proposed along Vivian Avenue from Lake <br />Judy Park to Bobby Theisen Park and <br />Island Lake School as part of the City's <br />street renewal program. The proposed <br />construction is to begin in May 1989 with <br />completion by September 1989. <br />Roadway Reconstruction <br />1989 Street Renewal -This is the <br />fourth year of the street renewal program. <br />Streets in the renewal area are brought up <br />to today's standards with concrete curb and <br />gutters. The street renewal revolving fund <br />pays for a majority or in some cases the <br />total cost of the project. At the same time <br />all utilities are repaired and/or installed. <br />This years program is being constructed <br />in the general area of Cannon and Vivian <br />Avenues. Construction is to begin in May <br />1989 with completion in September 1989. <br />County Road G2/Hodgson Con- <br />nection - The jurisdiction of these two <br />roadways is being transferred to the City <br />from Ramsey County. The roadways are <br />proposed to be constructed to a width of <br />36 feet and it is proposed to construct an <br />on -road bike lane and an off-road <br />sidewalk. The improvements are proposed <br />to start in July 1989 with substantial <br />completion in November 1989 and final <br />completion by June of 1990. <br />Water Projects <br />Water Reservoir - The city's <br />consulting engineer is currently designing <br />a one million gallon underground reservoir <br />and booster station to improve the city's <br />water system. This reservoir will be <br />located south of the City Hall building and <br />will provide additional water storage and <br />high service pumping to meet system <br />demands. Construction is anticipated to <br />begin in the spring of 1989 and to be <br />completed in the spring of 1990. <br />County Road I -Construction of <br />trunk watermain line is proposed fron, <br />Hodgson Road to Lexington Avenue to <br />help in meeting the summer time peak <br />demands. The proposed schedule is for <br />construction to begin in March 1989 and <br />to be completed by July 1989. <br />Lexington Avenue/Victoria Street - <br />This proposed trunk watermain project <br />along Lexington Avenue between Victoria <br />Street and County Road F is necessary to <br />upgrade fire protection in the County Road <br />F area.
