MEMO TO: MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS
FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR O
PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY
DATE: MARCH 28, 1989
SUBJECT: SILVER VIEW PARK PATHWAY EXTENSION
It was suggested last year that the City look towards Spring,
1989 to install the pathway link of trail between the present
woodchip trail on the northwest side of the pond to the south
side cement walk easement and adjoining woodchip trail.
It was determined that this segment should be a crushed rock
material. The completion of this segment of pathway would follow
with the planting of shrubs and trees. Forester Rick Wriskey
will visit with each resident abutting this park area to consider
their desires for tree and shrub variety and placement.
The pathway plan was designed by Short -Elliot -Hendrickson and
reviewed several times by the residents, Parks and Recreation
Commission and City Council. The crushed rock has been budgeted
for this year in the Parks Account. The public works crew would
cut the grade, pour the rock and pack the material. Forester
Wriskey would coordinate the planting details with each
individual resident whose property abuts this section of pathway.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval to proceed with the installation of the
south section of pathway using crushed rock material as a base.
MS/SL
