park. They complimented the the playground, the picnic area, the <br />parking lot, the shade trees and the park shelter. However, the <br />vollyball court does need to be improved. Lambert Park leaders <br />unfortunately felt that the park seems to be the least priority <br />when it comes to maintenance, fix -ups, and equipment. The park <br />certainly needs more shadetr.ees-but does have a nice playground <br />and softball diamond. Groveland Park leaders gave the most <br />positive feedback about the park. They enjoyed the shelter and <br />its placement in the park, the picnic area, the playground, the <br />vollyball court, the tennis courts, softball diamond and the <br />many shadetrees. The Groveland leaders were especially pleased <br />with the community support from parents and neighbors. The <br />leaders feel that the support was an integral part of the success <br />at Groveland. Finally, all of the leaders feel that the water <br />} fountains at each park are a great asset and a needed safety <br />measure considering the heat during the last two summers. <br />When looking over the past summer, I as the Summer Play- <br />ground Supervisor am very pleased. There are certain changes <br />needed in the Park Program, but overall the program is very <br />successful considering the positive feedback from parents, the <br />participants, and the playground leaders. For improving the <br />Mounds View Playcenter Program, I suggest to coordinate the bus <br />pick-ups better on excursions and to pick excursions that are <br />within twenty minutes of Mounds View. Specific Mounds View <br />Summer Playground t -shirts would help the leaders supervise the <br />participants on excursions. I would like to see an additional <br />orientation day before the summer program begins to help with <br />programming. Seven art and crafts for each program would be a <br />positive improvement.
