-2 -
The basketball/multi-purpose court still has no game lines. I would like to see
this court lined for basketball, four-square, hopscotch, and shuffleboard.
Perhaps this should be contracted out for a color coated seal and lines.
9. One project that we planned to initiate in 1990 is the placement of ag-lime in
skating areas. I would like to see Hillview be our first park receiving an ag-
lime, multi-purpose pleasure skating area and hockey rink area. This would be
an in-house project.
10. The replacement and/or installation of new flooring at the three park buildings
that are need of such work, is also budgeted for 1990 completion. Options for
flooring need to be pursued to choose something versatile for our needs.
Major spring time park maintenance will include:
1. Packing away rink facilities, preparing for spring and summer park use.
2. Ballfield preparation:
- Grading where needed.
- Leveling of infields.
- Dragging.
- Replacement of bases, pitching rubbers and home plates.
- Re -aligning foul poles, perhaps repainting.
Re-establishing foul ball and dead ball lines (by May 1)
3. Weed spraying - I would like to have weed spraying performed in late April and
again in mid -summer.
4. Drinking fountains - the fountains must be operational for athletics by May 1.
5. Replacement of nets - Tennis and volleyball nets need to be put up as soon as
the weather is warm enough for play, usually April 1.
Tennis courts also need to be cleared of leaves and washed.
Volleyball courts need line replacement or alignment and raked where
necessary by April 1.
MS/SL
