RESOLUTION NO. 1990-1 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION TO REQUEST CONSIDERATION OF THE TRAFFIC IMPACT <br />ON GROVELAND PARK DUE TO HIGHWAY 610 EXTENSION <br />WHEREAS, Groveland Park is located on Groveland Road, Fairchild <br />Avenue and Ardan Avenue; and <br />WHEREAS, the traffic on these roads may impact the safety of park <br />users; and <br />WHEREAS, Groveland Park, having many popular facilities, is currently <br />the neighborhood park having the greatest use; and <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission is concerned about the <br />safety of children using Groveland Park, especially if the traffic flow were to increase <br />due to access points to Highway 610 located west of the park. <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View Parks and <br />Recreation Commission requests the City Council to consider a Highway 610 <br />alternative that would include access points east of Knollwood Drive with the intent of <br />dispersing traffic; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />requests that the City Council select an alternative which allows the least amount of <br />traffic impact on Groveland Park, allowing an access point or points to County Road J <br />east of Knollwood Drive and west of Red Oak Drive. <br />Adopted this 22nd day of March, 1990. <br />Mounds View Parks and Recreation Commission <br />
