Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department <br />UPDATE <br />May 17, 1990 <br />SILVER VIEW PARK <br />The framework for the picnic shelter concrete floor has been installed. As soon as a <br />break in the weather appears, the concrete will be poured. <br />Eagle Scout candidate David Sanford is working on the sand volleyball courts and will <br />complete the project soon. <br />NYSCA COACHES TRAINING <br />This Saturday, May 19 the youth coaches will be receiving training and certification <br />with the National Youth Sports Coaches Association. <br />This year, 43 coaches are volunteering their services to summer youth sports in <br />programs offered through the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department. <br />SUMMER YOUTH BASEBALL/SOFMALL PROGRAMS <br />The summer youth athletic programs are as popular as always with over 400 children <br />participating. The number of Mounds View instructional teams are equivalent to <br />numbers of instructional teams in other neighboring cities which have double the <br />population of Mounds View! These programs are instructional programs emphasizing <br />skill development and enjoyment. <br />Four programs are joint collaborative programs with other neighboring cities including <br />New Brighton, Shoreview, Arden Hills, Columbia Heights, and St. Anthony.
