MEMO TO: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR <br />PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 20, 1990 <br />SUBJECT: PARK MAINTENANCE <br />The City Council approved the recommendation that the Public Works Department <br />should be responsible for park maintenance because they have the control over <br />maintenance activity. The park maintenance operations will also be the responsibility <br />of Public Works. <br />The Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department continues to administer planning and <br />budget responsibilities for park development and planning, and parks capital as <br />advised by the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />In conclusion, all park maintenance concerns will be referred to Public Works and all <br />park development and planning concerns will be referred to the Parks, Recreation and <br />Forestry Department. <br />MS/SL <br />
