PRELIMINARY PARII.AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM <br />SILVER VIEW COMMUNITY PARK <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />MARCH, 1990 <br />FACILITY: <br />Pond management/weed harvesting <br />PRIMARY ACTIVITY/FUNCTION: <br />To maintain clean water providing for the habitat of wildlife and <br />aesthetically pleasing atmosphere for park users. <br />PLAN DESCRIPTION: <br />The plan of Silver View Park shows the pond as the key facility for a <br />nature -type passive area for hiking and wildlife observation. <br />RECREATION CRITERIA: <br />TO allow enough macrophytes to support wildlife yet control an <br />overabundance of macrophyte growth which may be aesthetically <br />displeasing. <br />GENERAL MAINTENANCE CRITERIA: <br />Requires weed harvesting whenever water biologists determine that <br />growth is overabundant and considering that extensive macrophyte <br />harvesting should not deter wildlife sustenance. <br />GENERAL DESIGN CRITERIA: <br />Alleviate weed stench. Increases water clarity. Is aesthetically pleasing. <br />19 <br />
